Athletes for Others is a non-profit organization that was founded on the belief that developing strong personal relationships, demonstrating unwavering integrity and character, and having a purpose greater than oneself are the keys to becoming a successful citizen.

And, it's AFO's aim to demonstrate that team sports serve as an ideal gateway to instill these beliefs. Unfortunately, the lives and futures of boys and girls and the men and women they become are being shaped by the way our culture improperly defines what it means to be a "real man" or a "real women". Rather than serving others, society reinforces the ideals that success is self-centered- based on superior athletic ability, sexual conquest and economic gain. Our goal is to change that mindset among young athletes by having every child from the time they start youth sports until the time they graduate from high school coached and taught the AFO way.

There are over 20,000 youth and high school athletes in Forsyth County alone. It is estimated that a young athlete spends over 240 hours, or the equivalent of six work weeks, a year with their coach. In many cases the coach may act as a father or mother figure. In order to reach our young athletes, AFO's focus is to reach coaches from youth sports to the college level. By training coaches on how to demonstrate AFO's core beliefs, they will in-turn be equipped to teach the same beliefs to their players.
